About FightAIDS Ghana
FightAIDS Ghana is a voluntary Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) registered in Ghana. Founded in July 2009, we work to support vulnerable children and adults—especially orphans and people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS—through outreach, education, and community support.
Our Mission
To support poverty-stricken homes, campaign against the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and provide care and support for orphaned and vulnerable children through grassroots community outreach programs.
Our Objectives
- Create awareness about HIV/AIDS and STIs in rural areas, slums, universities, colleges, and schools.
- Support orphans to develop their gifts, talents, and potential.
- Provide care and support to the needy and promote opportunities for job creation.
- Train youth and vulnerable groups in ICT to help close the digital divide.
What We Do
- Spiritual Development (Bible-based): Providing moral guidance and spiritual support.
- Education & Awareness: HIV/AIDS education, school outreach, and support for continued learning.
- Primary Health Care Support: Prevention education and guidance on HIV/AIDS and STIs.
- Social Upbringing: Helping children grow with strong values, discipline, and confidence.
- Shelter & Poverty Alleviation: Skills development and micro-enterprise support to improve livelihoods.
Past Achievements
- HIV/AIDS education in various schools (including EP School and Action Progressive Secondary School).
- Donation of food items and educational materials to Bajwiase Orphanage (Dec 2009).
- Formation of FightAIDS Ghana clubs in schools and institutions and support materials (e.g., T-shirts).
Future Plans
- Large-scale farming projects to support the NGO and create jobs for youth.
- Community outreach through mobile campaigns, movies, and talk shows on HIV/AIDS.
- Sponsorship support for needy students.
- Establish an ICT Centre to train youth and bridge the digital divide.
